Caring for Rabbits & Guinea Pigs:

Rabbits and guinea pigs are special. They have delicate digestive systems and rely on lots of fibre to keep them healthy. Rabbits' and guinea pigs' teeth grow constantly so they need to eat lots of hay and/or grass, which is abrasive, to help wear down their teeth.

1. Hay: The bulk of your pet's diet should be made up of good quality hay and should be available at all times. Hay is vital for a rabbit or guinea pigs' dental health, as the chewing action helps to wear down their teeth. It also contains high levels of fibre to promote good digestive health.

2. Nuggets: As well as providing vital fibre, nuggets provide your pets with the ideal mix of vitamins and minerals to promote good digestive and all round health. A fresh, carefully measured portion of nuggets can be given each day; do not just top up the bowl. It's important to feed nuggets rather than a muesli mix to avoid selective feeding.

3. Healthy treats:  Offering healthy treats occasionally in small quantities makes mealtimes fun and they're great to promote bonding between you and your pet.

4. Fresh greens: Feed a small handful of different, safe, washed leafy greens every day.

5. Water: Ensure fresh clean water is available at all times.
